Partnership with Turkish Airlines benefits PIA With Rs 2 Billion Revenue
Struggling Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has seen an impressive boost in revenue of over Rs 2 billion since its recent partnership with the Turkish airline. By selling over 38,000 tickets on flights from the Islamabad and Lahore airports to Istanbul, the airline has been able to bring in this additional income within a span of 34 days.
At a high-level meeting between the Federal Aviation Minister, Khawaja Saad Rafique, and representatives from the Pakistan International Airlines, the Minister issued an order to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to introduce discounted flight plans for the northern areas of Skardu, Gilgit, and Chitral. Minister Saad had made the decision to provide these discounts in order to boost tourism in the region.
Furthermore, the Aviation Minister also directed PIA officials to improve the flight schedules between Lahore, Karachi, and Skardu in order to enhance the domestic flight experience.
